Why is Kratom Sold "Not for Human Consumption"?

The "not for human consumption" phrase can be found on various kratom packages on the market. According to the FDA, all supplements that are designated for human consumption must go through their extensive testing to ensure they are safe to market to the public. So rather than illegally claiming kratom is an FDA approved product or supplement, those selling it mark it as "not for human consumption". They do not want the FDA to shut-down their business for breaking the rules.

You and I both know there are multiple FDA approved drugs or supplements on the market that have caused harm or even death. According to the popular health website Mercola.com, the previously popular pharmaceuticals Bextra, Zyvox, and Lyrica are the subject of the biggest health care fraud settlement in history.

Pfizer was ordered to pay out 2.3 billion dollars for illegally marketing their drugs. Now if the FDA was so concerned with testing the safety of all "consumable" supplements, then why were those ever allowed to go to market? It is quite obvious- Big Pharma has a lot, and I repeat a lot of money. I'll leave it to you to fill in the blanks on the rest of this.
